1-Minute (or Less) Summary

  • I’m a Consulting User Assistance Developer for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) GoldenGate
  • I am an advocate for users of all abilities
  • My background is in curriculum development

The Whole Story

My official title is Consulting User Assistance Developer. That’s a fancy way of saying I write technical documentation, UI text, tutorials, produce videos, and create interactive simulations. I am more than a Technical Writer. I am an advocate for users of all abilities because I believe that everyone has a right to information no matter their ability or disability.

I have been with Oracle since 2011, when they acquired FatWire Software, where I worked as the Training and Development Manager. (I didn’t actually manage people though, just curriculum!) While I enjoyed delivering the classes I developed, it was too much work to do both, so when Oracle asked me if I wanted to go in to curriculum design or instruction, I chose the former! For the next 3-4 years I maintained courses for Oracle WebCenter Sites, until I moved over to the Data Integration group and became a User Assistance Developer.

As a Principal User Assistance Developer, I was the doc lead for Oracle Data Integration Platform Cloud (gen 1), OCI Data Integration, and now OCI GoldenGate (there were at least two other services I wrote for that didn’t go to market).

And now, here I am! I’m here to help find the shortest, easiest path to success with OCI GoldenGate. I am a lifelong learner, and hope you are too! I look forward to sharing my creations with you.
